Upstate, SC – Oct. 22, 2009 – Joshua Patz of Spartanburg, a senior at the University of South Carolina Upstate majoring in business management, is the recipient of the CommunitySouth Bank & Trust Scholarship for 2009-2010.
CommunitySouth Bank & Trust President David Miller established the $1,000 scholarship at his alma mater to help support the academic pursuits of students majoring in business and accounting at the George Dean Johnson Jr. College of Business and Economics at USC Upstate. Miller, a 1990 graduate of the University, has also established an internship for USC Upstate business students interested in pursuing careers in banking.
“We are thrilled to be able to give this scholarship to Joshua,” said Miller. “I was helped when I was an aspiring banker and I want to honor that by giving back to my community, including the community at USC Upstate.”
