COMMUNITYSOUTH BANK & TRUST GIVES BACK TO THE UPSTATE
THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Upstate, SC -- December 28, 2007 -- CommunitySouth Bank & Trust recently participated in several holiday charity fundraisers across the Upstate.

The Bank’s Easley headquarters and Spartanburg office each displayed a Salvation Army, Be an Angel Tree in their lobbies. The Salvation Army hung dozens of tickets on the Christmas tree featuring the name, clothing size, and a “Dream Gift” idea for a local child in need. Bank employees and customers selected tickets and purchased gifts for these local children. The Bank collected over 50 gifts for area children with this program.

CommunitySouth’s Greer and Greenville offices teamed up to sponsor a family through Greer Relief.  With the pooled donations from the employees at both offices, the Bank was able to provide Christmas gifts to a local single mother and her two young children.

The Bank’s Mauldin office also sponsored a local family this holiday season. The office teamed up with Hands on Greenville, a local charitable organization that provides businesses and individuals with the wish list of a child in need each Christmas. Through employee and customer donations, the Bank was able to provide a 10-month-old baby with toys and clothing items.

CommunitySouth is also holding a companywide food drive to benefit the Community Food Bank of the Upstate. Community Food Bank of the Upstate is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting food donations and distributing them locally to help fight hunger in the Upstate.

One out of five South Carolinians call on food banks, soup kitchens, and pantries to obtain a portion of their food. While most food banks receive an influx of donations around the holidays, they often run low again within weeks of the New Year. With this in mind, CommunitySouth’s food drive will run from early December until January 4th. Collection boxes are available in each lobby, and the public and employees are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items, such as canned items, pasta, rice, sauces, condiments and spices.

“Every year as the holiday season approaches, we look forward to participating in a variety of charitable programs to aid the communities we live and work in,” said C. Allan Ducker, III, Chief Executive Officer of CommunitySouth. “We are a community bank and make it a priority to give back to our community. We were pleased to be a part of these fundraisers.”
